Dawn Howe acts as a Director at HIGHVERN’s Cayman office as well as in-house Legal Counsel. She qualified as a solicitor in 2001 and worked with several legal practices in London. In 2006 Dawn then returned to private practice at Maples and Calder where she became partner in 2010. She worked in each of their Cayman Islands, Jersey and London offices, before joining Walkers as a partner in their global investment funds team in September 2013. Dawn is admitted as a solicitor in both England and Wales and the Cayman Islands and serves on various sub-committees of AIMA Cayman. She is the previous Chair of the Legal and Regulatory Committee of AIMA Cayman and has also served on the Cayman Finance Investment Funds Sub-Committee where she chaired the Investment Funds Regulatory Working Group. During her legal career, Dawn specialised in all aspects relating to the formation and ongoing operation of open and closed-ended investment vehicles, has experience in establishing managed accounts and investment fund platforms and has extensively advised many distressed funds and funds undergoing restructuring programmes. Dawn currently provides directorship services to a diverse portfolio of both private and institutional clients, whose structures utilise a wide range of alternative investment strategies operating in both established and emerging markets.
