Group Director, Naomi Rive, appointed Chairperson of STEP Jersey Branch

The new Chair of the Jersey Branch of STEP is Advocate Naomi Rive. She takes over from Lorraine Wheeler who held the position for two years.

Advocate Rive, who was elected at the recent AGM, is currently the Chief Trust Officer at Coutts Trustees and is a part of the management team who have recently announced a management buy-out of the business. She previously served as Vice-Chair and secretary of the Branch. The new Vice-Chair is Henry Wickham, Senior Associate at Bedell Cristin. Kerry Emblem (PwC) was elected as treasurer; Claire Cabot (Alter Domus) was re-elected as secretary; and Oana Crisan (Garfield Bennett) becomes the branch’s new student liaison officer.

Commenting on her appointment, Advocate Rive said: ‘I am looking forward to building upon the excellent work undertaken by my predecessors in ensuring that the Jersey Branch of STEP provides its members with access to educational and networking opportunities in accordance with the aims and objectives of the organisation.’

As STEP Jersey enters its 25th year, one of the branch’s founding members, Rosemary Marr, was made a lifelong member of the committee in recognition of her dedication to the organisation.

Also re-elected at the AGM were Christine Brown (LGL Trustees), Tim Cartwright (Hawksford), Edward Devenport (Mourant Ozannes), Simon Morgan (Vistra), Sue Munns (Mourant Ozannes), Tony Pitcher (LGL Trustees) and Lorraine Wheeler (First Names Group).

With over 1,200 members, many of whom are in the process of working towards STEP professional qualifications, the Jersey branch is the largest in the world outside London.
