Paul Smith

Paul Smith is a Principal at HIGHVERN’s Cayman office, joining the group following acquisition of Genesis Trust & Corporate Services Ltd. in 2022. Paul qualified as an accountant in the UK in 2005 has worked for both the equities and fixed income markets focusing on fixed income strategy and sales for the equity division. In 2009, Paul moved to a legal practice in the Cayman Islands where we specialised in strategic planning, profitability modeling and transfer pricing. In 2015 he took a role as Head of Finance and Operations with responsibility for budgets, financial statements and audits, Spot FX trading and policies and procedures.

Paul joined Genesis Trust & Corporate Services Ltd. in 2017 specialising in the provision of independent directorship services to a diverse portfolio of private clients, institutional clients, sovereign wealth funds and investment managers; whose structures include and/or manage alternative investment funds, private equity funds, fund of funds and special purpose vehicles. Paul is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants and the CFA institute. He is also a member of the Cayman Islands CFA society and a registered director with CIMA.
