HIGHVERN RETURNS AS JERSEY FESTIVAL OF WORDS SPONSOR FOR FIFTH YEAR, BACKING HEADLINE AUTHOR DR SIAN WILLIAMS

Leading fund services and private capital solutions provider, HIGHVERN is proud to return as a principal corporate sponsor of the Jersey Festival of Words, now in its eleventh year. This is the fifth consecutive year that HIGHVERN has supported the much-loved literary event.

This year, HIGHVERN is also sponsoring one of the festival’s headline authors, BBC broadcaster and Chartered Counselling Psychologist, Dr Sian Williams.

Celebrating over a decade of literary excellence, the festival will welcome Dr Williams, an acclaimed broadcaster, psychologist, and author, for a special event discussing her book The Power of Anxiety: How to Ride the Worry Wave. She will appear on Saturday 26 September from 2.00–3.00pm, in conversation with Festival Chair Lucy Cotter.

Martin Hall, Executive Chairman of Highvern & Permian, said:

“The festival is much anticipated event in many islanders’ calendars, and it is incredibly rewarding to support an initiative that promotes a love of reading and literacy, creativity and community across the Island.

Sian’s work, exploring anxiety as a source of strength, feels both timely and uplifting in modern times. It reflects exactly the kind of conversation this festival does so well, bringing together inspiring voices and thought-provoking ideas. We look forward to another memorable programme of storytelling and celebration for all ages.“

Dr Williams is widely recognised for her distinguished career in broadcasting and her subsequent work in mental health practice and advocacy. Through her writing and public speaking, she offers practical insights into understanding and managing anxiety, helping people build resilience in their everyday lives

Festival organiser Pippa Le Quesne added: “We are delighted to welcome Sian Williams to this year’s festival. She is one of the UK’s most respected broadcasters and a highly regarded psychologist, and we look forward to an engaging and thought-provoking discussion.”

Tickets for the event will be available to purchase in the coming months.
