Leading fiduciary, corporate, and fund services provider HIGHVERN is proud to continue its role as a principal sponsor of the Jersey Festival of Words, now in its tenth year. This marks HIGHVERN’s fourth time supporting the literary event. This year, they are also backing one of the festival’s most anticipated events, “Slow Horses – An Audience with Mick Herron & Will Smith”.
Celebrating a decade of literary excellence, the festival will feature Mick Herron, #1 Sunday Times bestselling author of the Slough House spy thriller series, in conversation with Emmy-winning broadcaster and screenwriter Will Smith, who adapted Herron’s work for television. The event will take place from 8pm to 9pm on Friday, 26 September at the Freedom Centre.
“We’re proud to support the Festival once again as it celebrates an incredible ten years,” said Highvern CEO Martin Hall. “Literature has a unique way of bringing communities together, and this annual event plays a big role in keeping that spirit alive on the island. Supporting the Mick Herron event is a real highlight this year. It’s exciting to help bring such a prominent literary voice to Jersey.”
Published in over 25 languages and adapted into the Apple TV+ hit series Slow Horses starring Gary Oldman as the irascible Jackson Lamb, Herron’s series has captivated millions and earned critical acclaim and multiple prestigious awards, including the CWA Gold, Steel and Diamond Dagger and the Theakston Old Peculiar Crime Novel of the Year.
Pippa Le Quesne, Director of Jersey Festival of Words, said, “To have Mick Herron join us is truly exciting. His talent for blending suspense, wit, and character development makes him a standout voice in contemporary fiction. We are grateful for HIGHVERN’s ongoing support in making events like this possible.”
Tickets for the event be priced at £18, or £49 for a pair of tickets including a hardback copy of Herron’s highly anticipated new release, Clown Town, the ninth book in his globally bestselling Slough House series. Tickets will go on sale closer to the festival date.
